Oh yeah. Non-controversial surely?
Everyone in Glasgow knows that Chicken tikka masala was invented in Glsagow because the Weegie likes sauce/gravy with their meat.
Many, many things were invented in Glasgow. It is a very inventive historic city of great beauty and learning.

Off on a tangent:
Am I a 'professional Glaswegian'?
And if so, is it because of inadequacies in me, or because Glasgow really is such a generally fine city?

Although, having said how fine and inventive it is . . .
Last night about 11 pm outside my window. I live on a square, so the roads directly outside my flat are not busy and have cars parked on both sides, with just room for one car to drive up the middle.
Walking down the middle of this road, forcing taxis/cars etc. to reverse, swerve, avoid . . a man on crutches, arguing with a woman slugging something out a bottle, ,arguing with another man who was pushing a baby buggy with an angelic blonde boy of about 2 in it.
WTF?

But on the other hand, I thought, I should mind my own business and not be an interfering busybody, and the 3 adults, although intoxicated and loud, were still able to walk. What should I have done?

Do the English thing and be Absolutely, Positively Sure and without any doubt that somebody must have already done so. Seemple!

Eeek! Isn't that just too easy.
If what the paparazzi said was true, that is why the emergency service took so long to reach the dying Princess Diana. They all believed someone else had phoned.

I really don't know what I'd have done in your place. Probably the same as you. It's tempting to wade in and start phoning the rozzers but, as you say, at least the three adults were still walking. Far worse had one of them got his keys out to open his car door... And doubtless then we'd let the authorities know.

Is it??-I have never eaten it in India but then again I might have read the menu incorrectly as I cannot speak Malayalam,Hindi or Tamil. Come to think I cannot speak Glaswedish either. I did order a `Vindaloo` in Goa once and it was bloody awful-sod the authenticity, sod the Portugese influence-think poor quality tomato soup and bits floating around in it

Chop Suey comes from San Francisco, Balti from Birmingham. Curry as we know it is basically Anglo-Indian anyway and all those typically English sauces and pickles like HP and Branston are Victorian reconstructions of Indian originals. Indian food uses chillies and tomatoes - how did they get there from Mexico? Before that they modified native Indian food to the taste of North Asians converted to Muslim dietary restrictions as per 'Leviticus'. The fusion is far too old to waste time on trying to find an 'original'. It is like trying to look for an 'original' Italian food free from Mexican tomatoes and Chinese pasta.
