Soup - mildly spicy bean , or a thick creamy asparagus - is just the thing when cold and tired.
When in need of emotional comfort, it has to be an old-fashioned hot pudding; a gooey syrupy one, jam roly-poly or maybe spotted dick, with just a little cream.

Nah, chickened out! Twas only a small one anyway - so only needed a half hour on top and a half hour inside. (Stop that sniggering at the back.) Further exploration of a steamy kind will take place once I've got a decent recipe book! Who knows though, I'm looking forward to possibly joining the jam making community next year possibly!

nothing like a roast dinner on Sundays,of roast beef, home made roast tatties and Yorkshire pudding with cauliflower cheese and gravy made from the juices of the slow roast beef. I see people spend a fortune on Aunt bessie tatties and yorkshires,if they only bovvered to make their own they aren't that hard to make . Followed by Ice cream mars bars.

Roast beef is my absolute favourite, Sesley. With roast potatoes in beef dripping and yorkshire puds. Oh joy!
