the kitchen smells of spice and fruit. i have finally done something for christmas. It was a easy boil on the hob one and then mix with dry ingredients and then bake in slow oven for 1 and half minutes.

Well, I've just been wrestling with the new printer getting it to keep hold of the settings I'd entered while it printed out my Christmas Cards. Why do they do it? What makes a machine that is supposed to follow a clearly defined set of instructions suddenly change those settings itself halfway through!

My family aren't that keen (although I quite like it). Similarly Christmas puddings: I made them once but you should have heard the complaints from Mr. E. that the kitchen was like an Equatorial Jungle (like he's ever been to South America) after god-knows-how-many hours of steaming.
