i mainly listen to Elton John If there's anything worse than Duran Duran and the BeeGees, it has to be Elton John. A bag of shite, but quite a good actor nevertheless -- he played the lamp in Amityville III, and that bloke in The Tudors.

Don't mind me, Costal. Like whom you like. I'm just a laid-back opinionated megaphone. Ask anyone. Never heard of the Banana Splits. Are they pneumatically nubile? (Elton John a genius? In that case, so is Demis Roussos.)

I liked the "Yellow Brick Road" album by Elton John - circa early 1970s.
B-B-B-Benny and the Jets and all that.

Banana Splits were good enough for Bob Marley to rip off:

Lily - do you know The Lighthouse Keepers? They were operating in the 80s, I think in Sydney, and they did a lot of records I think on their own label.

Lily - do you know The Lighthouse Keepers? The seagulls have a lighthouse in Mobile, The seagulls have a lighthouse in Mobile. . . Oh, the seagulls have a lighthouse, . . They use it for a shitehouse, And now there is a white house in Mobile. One of Cliff's best numbers, I'm sure you'll agree.

a bit later today I will bung some links up here. I think the ones I have in mind will be well received by one and all. It is Nick's sister I know, not his mum. She is bloody amazing herself actually musically, yet "girl next door"with no attitude atall about her brother.

NO NO NO!!!
They were kind of indie, back when that wasn't a rude word.
I used to like to think they were named after a VDGG song - Plague of Lighthouse Keepers:
