I have a secret passion! The music from the thirties and forties. What made me think about it today was hearing the Nelson Eddy track "I passed by your window" on June Spencer's "Desert Island" this morning. Her Father used to sing it to her at bed time. Nearly brought a tear to my eye.
Here are some other favourites of mine:
You may not agree, but when I here these tunes I think of them as the Bread and Butter of Music! OK, plenty more genre's out there, but the tunes are so gloriously simple, and, of course, designed to make people dance! (Except the first which in Ms Spencer's case was designed to put her to sleep!)
Harry James again.......

Give me Glenn Miller and his Orchestra any day.
"Stardust" by Hoagy Carmichael - one of my favourites.
And, of course, you just can't beat:
From the film "Top Hat", music by Irving Berlin.
