sometimes i imagine that many of the posters on this fine sausageboard are the folks who turn up for the antiqwue roadshow like when i see a smiling man in the background i might think to myself ' thats Weyland that is' or when i see a narrow headed lady pontificating upon the discovery of some dusty expensive objet d'art what shes brought along i might think to myself with a chuckle thats Trubs that is.

We aim to please. I am in fact to be seen in an edition of that very fine programme that was shot at Powis [sic] Castle a few years ago. Can't remember if I was smiling or not, but it was an interesting experience. (The painting wasn't worth much according to Philip Mould (nice man), but I love it anyway. David Battie has some very nice photographic equipment, mostly Canon.)

And I'm not speaking to you now.

..i do it with a lot of programmes in fact, just sit there and pretend the people on the telly are people i know off of the internet. for example if i happen to catch the american tv show 'desperate housewives' qwuite often Riot and Betty and Everso will make appearances PAY NO HEEEED TO THE TITLE OF THE PROGRAMME I AM TALKING ABOUT THE GLAMOUR alternatively, Chris Mac makes qwuite a lot of appearances when i am watching the News.

Weyland i had a feeling you might have been on the Antiqwue Roadshow, there is an aura about you, it is a greeen aura, and it boldly says I HAVE BEEN ON THE ANTIQUE ROADSHOW AND NO MATTER WHAT MAY HAPPEN YOU CARNT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME,../ i made on appearance on another Sunday evening fixture, 'Songs of Praise', me. i was about 9 or 10 i think. twas at st. albans abbey.. there was a great shot where the camera swooped down to pan across the crowd/audience/congregation, and then you see me, the only one not singing. i then proceed to roll my eyes at the camera. it was probably my finest moment. Alas.. last time i was at my parents i discovered they no longer have the VHS tape we recorded the episode on.

I'm not saying that at all. How would I know? One of the characters is never seen any more. She's in gaol. Guess who. Apart from that she's the absolute salt of the earth, jolly, quick-witted, sharp dresser, would do anything for a friend, drinks a lot. Everso (Dorcas) will confirm.

I know that shot! They used it behind the title sequence in the Tim Burton classic Saint Alban Versus Voodoo Herbert. ~ ~ ~ I had a girlfriend from St Albans in the early 60s. We met on neutral ground -- Butlins at Ayr. Could hardly understand her strange accent, and she had little chance with Geordie, but the chemistry was there, catalysed largely by Martha and the Vandellas. Dancing in the Street IS Ayr Butlins to me, and always will be. The Zombies were big at the time as well, I remember. She told me they were from St Albans.

I knew a vicar's daughter from St Albans - and the less said about that the better!

I love that programme - it's my one weakness.
