If you have 90 minutes to spare this evening then I thoroughly recommend this. It's available now on BBCi player in the 'film' category. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00rfp72/Sugarhouse/Andy Serkis is superb as the Ulster psycho drugs dealer who owns a tough London estate. It's edge of the seat stuff throughout.

Watching it right now. I'm having a bit of trouble with the accents and I can't really understand what it's about (20 minutes in) but it's pretty good so far.

Gosh, there's lots of effing and blinding. Still, pretty good and very realistic.

I had to break for dinner, drank too much red wine and fell asleep afterwards so I haven't seen the end! Thank goodness you didn't give it away. I shall watch it tomorrow morning - I still have half an hour to go.
It's too late now and I know if I watch it I'll have trouble getting to sleep.
The acting is excellent. Especially the black bloke, D (or is it Dee?). Puts me in mind of the Ratso character played by Dustin Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy (brilliant film).

Everso, did you ever see the Seinfeld episode with Jon Voigt? The ending was a wonderful parody of Midnight cowboy, that you (me, anyway) didn't see coming; it was great, and really very touching.

I never did get round to watching Seinfeld. My aunt and uncle who live in the US (well, now only my uncle, my aunt died) used to recommend it regularly - it was their favourite show - but we never seemed to catch it. Midnight Cowboy was an EXCELLENT film. Mr. E. and I saw it at the Cinecentre in London (near Leicester Square - don't know if it still exists) back in the olden days. They haven't really shown it much on t.v. unfortunately. Great song too.

When I saw it, it was on TV. But it must have been 20 years ago.
Yes, a great film. I downloaded the soundtrack a few weeks ago.
