On Monday 29th March Channel 4 will stage a live debate between the would-be Chancellors, Alistair Darling, George Osborne and Vince Cable. Krishnan Guru-Murthy will be asking the tough questions.

I caught a few minutes of Alex Salmond on Question Time putting forward a strong argument that ''prime ministerial'' debates (that according to him used be called Leaders' Debates but had been changed to make sure he didn't get a place) were an affront to the British Public because they exclude the three devolved countries and focus on England.

He was ably dismissed though.

However, his call for the BBC to have a proper Leader's Debate that includes SNP and Plaid Cymru (sp?), and his assertion that it would be more interesting, is a great idea.

If Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland use different systems to England when it comes to the NHS/ Education/ Budget Management, wouldn't it be great to see the systems debated and compared? Perhaps the SNP would be found to have some support within England if their policies work better.

I'd like to see the systems debated anyway.

Plaid Cymru it is, Trubs, and they'll be getting my vote. I would probably have voted LibDem if the candidate -- also the incumbent -- wasn't such a tw@t. Vince Cable for President!
