We had a street party in Paradise St. Bury Lancs. Much smaller than the Gateshead one but identical in style. I was six years old.

I vaguely remember a Coronation Street party when I was 3. Me too. 1953. I was 5 going on 6. It was on a farm a few hundred metres from our house, where Northern Rock HQ is now. I thinks it's my earliest memory of a party event with lots of people. (I've forgotten most such events since -- can't think why, but it's probably just as well.) Progress? I preferred Hudspeth's Farm.

One of my earliest memories is of the Silver Jubilee street party that i went to in Pinner with me mum n dad and my elder sister. i was 3 years old there was a fancy dress competition what my sister won second prize in - she was dressed as a oxo cube. i was dressed as a policeman and i didnt win anythink. I did however get abducted by a clown who looked identical to Ronald McDonald. He dragged me away from my parents and made off with me to the front of the street procession. i was not best pleased about that. i think the clown could probly be arrested for that sort of thing nowadays. apart from the clown abduction thou it was a good day.

On Jubilee Night I was 8 months pregnant with our eldest. I have a photo of me with a nice drink in my hand (probably a scotch). We didn't worry about that kind of thing then.

I like it when the Stubbie Oldies get together to reminisce.
You can almost smell the wee.

Honestly, he tries to kid us all that he's a youngster. I'm sure Riot will vouch for the fact that he's at least 60.

And as he jolly well knows, because I've told him often enough, I'm a ladee. Therefore, as well as not possessing the ability to break wind, I have wonderful pelvic floor muscles.

My 'father' was a fireman so every worthy occasion was celebrated by a street party. There would also be 'tater pie suppers' for no apparent reason and, of course, the firemen's variety concert at Christmas with Santa arriving on a fire engine. I remember one sketch called 'We were only playing 'Leapfrog'. You wouldn't get away with it now!
