I just caught the last bit of this where the Queen and Prince Phillip were leaving the Palace of Westminster. Now,whether or not you are in favour of the Queen, you have to admire the way she walks down stairs, not holding on to a bannister (like wot I have to), not even lifting the hem of her floor length dress. She's 84 for crying out loud!

LD I mean, she's a month older than my mum would have been (had she not died 7 years ago!). My mum was riddled with arthritis and had great difficulty getting up and down stairs. I know the anti-monarchists might say "Well, she has the best of everything, the best doctors, food,etc." but, actually, the best of everything didn't help her dad who died in his 50s of lung cancer (I guess smoking did for him). The Queen Mother lived to 100 so maybe our Queen will do the same. She certainly looks well for her age. everso-monarchist (again, Alpha will be with me on this  ) |
