But I'm not sure which IS the "right" answer. I mean, both the spoons will be frozen.
I'm presuming that if one is in fact colder than the other after a night in the freezer it will be the metal one. But as all my wooden spoons are larger than the metal ones, it probably will feel colder, because there is more of it . Right?

I'm sure I'd know which one was the wooden one by the shape.

After leaping around, if you are lucky, your scantily clad will probably sat that the metal is colder. Let her/him dance for a while then say, 'put the spoons down and press your forefingers against your cheeks.'

Both spoons are at the same temperature. Steel is a better conductor than wood so will draw more heat from your fingers. Your brain has, once again, misinterpreted the information. It should say 'these fingers are now colder than before'.

When YOU'RE looking at the sky you might see it as (what I would call) green. But because you call it blue then it's blue to me. But I'll tell you what, my blood has a bluish tinge. My ankle is black and blue with bits of yellow and pink.

When exactly did we become Philosopher's Weekly round here?
Who cares what word we use for the colour of the sky? So long as we are all using the same word and understanding it the same (even if we're not seeing it the same) we can all just have another glass of red and not lose sleep.

Looks like its tantrum time. Please withdraw all your replies, whilst the we are convinced that the earth is flat.

I think we should all swap the words "puce" and "blue" and completely forget my Administration error back then :-) Otherwise I'll recycle the lot

Did you know that if you dropped a ton of feathers and a ton of steel from exactly the same height at exactly the same time and from exactly the same place........
......The fella underneath would get flattened!

But surely a ton of steel weighs more than a ton of feathers.....

But surely a ton of steel weighs more than a ton of feathers..... You're a bad, bad girl, taunting the natives like that. A ton of feathers weighs more, on account of the Troy and/or Avoirdupois Systems, where there are fewer drams per running scruple at the equator and vice versa, after August 12th. It's all laid out clearly in the Official Sunderland Market Rules of Engagement, 2010 edition.

It is all about the comparative bulk to weight ratio. This is why a 12 stone man looks much slimmer than a 12 stone woman.
