In the Daily Mail yesterday there was a list of different things that people have said make them happy. One was: Sneaking cheap snacks into the cinema. I thought about this and, really, it is a damn cheek that cinemas don't allow people to take in snacks from outside, but make you buy their own over-inflated crap. Not that Mr. E. and I pay any attention anyway, and always smuggle in drinks and sweets, but it annoys me that these people can be so high-handed.

Don't forget the drinks though. I find Caprisun fits easily in the handbag. I remember going to Saturday Morning Pictures when I was a little girl. It used to terrify me - all those kids screaming and hollering. I hope you won't be screaming and hollering tomorrow, BB.

Haven't been the pics for years, but yes, snacks were always smuggled in, it was part of the experience as far as I am concerned - That was a tradition that was started by my gran when she used to take all of us grand kids to see things like "Star Wars" and stuff. I was always a sucker for "Westlers Hotdogs" though when I started going on my own money...they'd show the add and I'd be straight down to the foyer to buy a few...got me every time. AH

PERSONALllllyyyyy.. i go to the cinema ( well, i havent beeen for AAAGGES..) but wheENN i go to the cinema i go to watch a film, NOT to eat. Although i wouldn't half mind smuggling in a cloche containing a roast dinner, lamb, roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, brocoli, and lashings of gravy.. that would be nice to settle down with and watch a film of a sunday afternoon. Could you pass the mint sauce darling? shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I generally add a big tablespoon of mint sauce to my gravy...conveniant and tasty! Edit: Bugger! I want a big roast dinner now. I hold Costy personally responsible for this! AH

Last time I went it was to the NFT, and anyone eating anything that makes any noise would be lynched, or at least muttered at; I was a bit worried about Fisherman's Friends.
A bloke showed up when the NFT trailer was playing (the only trailer; lasted about 30 secs) and someone hissed, "Should have come at the right time!" Everyone sits through the end titles as well.
Actually, it is a good way to see a film - no chat, no mobiles, no crunching or rustling - bloody good, really.

Oh, and a couple of canldesticks for good measure.

After an apology, someone ELSE put out a similar thing again to suggest it was last month So we still have 5 years to wait for flying skateboards

Un-American Grafitti = You can't buy stories like that. 2000AD is the fucking king when it comes to comics...how I wish that I'd not stopped collecting it. AH

The stupid thing was how much the price kept shooting up and up and up. A dinky comic with, what, 4 or 5 strips in it? (maybe one or two one-page jobbies as well) - I think it went up to 3 spondings when we stopped getting it
I've been collecting the Collected books that focus on strips from one character - mucho better
