They'd probably deny it adamantly - but some of the big names are the worst offenders for "chemical abuse". Not to mention vines growing on Earth transported from rubbish dumps! You can buy litre bottles of Italian wine at M&S - Instant headache material for some reason. First glass in too! The Co-op are doing battle with the wine producers by putting full ingredients on their own label bottles. They produce a little Post Card where a well dressed woman is sampling a bottle of wine saying "Warm, fruity nose, and just the slightest trace of fish bladder!" Isinglass is the technical name for it. Telegraph article on wine ingredientsJacob's Creek uses tartaric and ascorbic acid in its chardonnay, along with clay, enzymes and milk powder to fine the wine. Blossom Hill sometimes adds tartaric acids, enzymes and tannins to the grape juice. It also uses yeast nutrients and malolactic bacteria during fermentation of its standard red wine.

Does she hate rocking horses now? And barbecues? I shut Mini-Trub's head in car door when she was little and had to bring her to hospital but she was fine. They are resilient little creatures. I'm not aware that she has any particular feelings towards rocking horses and, sadly, the incident did not in any way put her off the notion of putting substances in her body.
