Weird coincidence. Last week I downloaded the second "A Very Peculiar Practice" series - as as far as I knew it hasn't been made available on DVD. Someone on Facebook says it has now - I've still yet to find a definitive shop page listing to suggest this though.
Googling around this morning, I was sad to see that Graham Crowden who played Dr. Jock McCannon in this and a little later Tom Ballard in "Waiting For God" opposite Stephanie Cole died just last week at the ripe old age of '87. He'd still been working too.

Maybe! Another programme I'd been waiting for for years to be released on video or DVD was held up simply because of an argument over royalties on a tiny piece of music in one episode. It's surprising what can do it.

And then they wonder why people download stuff.

I'd be interested in what kind of PRS set up they have in other countries. It's odd that you can go out and about abroad and hear radios and music blaring from everywhere - even on the public bus services sometimes. I secretly suspect that it has never been "Home Taping is killing music" - but the Performing Rights Society.
Interesting fact about Mr Crowden incidentally is that he turned down the role of Doctor Who, not wanting to commit to a job for three years. That went to Tom Baker in the end - who stayed a little longer than that of course!

He'd've made a great Doctor, more in the mould of William Hartnell. My favourite Doctor was Patrick Troughton, himself a National Treasure, RIP.
