I was never very keen on luncheon meat - which in my childhood was a popular sandwich filling - in fact I've never quite forgotten the taste. However, today I had a nice bacon sandwich with HP sauce on white bread.

Chris, that looks more like roadkill than a tasty treat of a sandwich!

Every year when we go down to Salcombe and we have a picnic on the beach I always do salmon sandwiches. I find the flavour is enhanced somewhat by a few grains of sand.

I once spent a week eating nothing but boiled egg, pickled beetroot and mayonaisse sandwiches (one time i switched to scrambled egg, but went back straight away).
I'd think, "I want a fag," then think that I really needed a cup of tea to go with it, so I'd go downstairs and then think that a cup of tea is always better after something to eat. And I could never think of anything I'd rather eat than the boiled egg, etc etc I listed above. I think I had one every other fag.
Now, Fried egg with onions (all fried in the same pan) which is what I think I'll have now.
Luncheon meat, canned ham, etc. These (and sausages in jars) are all I regret, what with not eating meat and that. Bacon smells very nice, but I always found the taste a bit of a let down.
I'll make sandwiches out of anything - pot noodle, pizza, thick bits of soup. I can't really eat without bread.

When I was in junk food land in my early twenties, when you don't feel quite so guilty about the World, I stopped buying fish fingers and moved onto those Birds Eye crumb/breadcrumbed fish fillets. To me it was better value for money (even though money wasn't a problem). I only had a small freezer and fish fingers always seemed to be sold in massive boxes. A two pack of those fillets was easier to handle and left room for my peas and Brains' Faggots! ;D ;D
Haven't had any of those since 1992.
