December 16, 2010 Word of the Day vermicular\ver-MIK-yuh-ler\ DEFINITION adjective 1: resembling a worm in form or motion 2: of, relating to, or caused by worms EXAMPLES Students will observe and document the vermicular decomposition of vegetative waste. DID YOU KNOW? What does the word "vermicular" have in common with the pasta on your plate? If you're eating vermicelli (a spaghetti-like pasta made in long thin strings) the answer is "vermis," a Latin noun meaning "worm." Lovely. Didn't they write a song about it? Vermiculeeeee, vermiculaaaar.....

I must remember to sing that the next time I go on a fenicular railway. Actually, it's highly unlikely that I will ever go on a fenicular railway again after one I went on in Austria. Mr. E. has video of me in a bit of a panic.

Don't read this if you're having your dinner at the moment, but I remember seeing a programme on the telly a year or two ago about a chap who was experimenting with ingesting tapeworms.
I still have a job eating fettuccine or tagliatelle.

Do you mean Apprentice Stella? Anyhoo, vermicular: "The vermicular wriggling on this subject from people locked onto the housing ladder though is pitiful. In the end, all politics is about massaging self-interest." link
