Ancient Archers episodes right now on Radio-7, and a special anniversary episode at 19:00 on R4.
Three-and-a-half years younger than me, and still going strong (though you'd think they could've had Shula down the old abandoned mineshaft by now, never to be heard again, ffs).

I listened as far as the David/Ruth episode. Didn't particularly want to hear the Grundy's misery again. I'm not a fan of Ms V Whitburn and have listened less and less over the past ten - fifteen years, sadly. I was hoping the ground shaking even would be the return of Nelson Gabriel - who only was pronounced dead for tax purposes, this time played by the near sound alike - the equally great Brian Perkins!
It was interesting to be reminded just how annoying Walter Gabriel could be. Though we spent many happy times imitating him when he was around.

It's on now -- I've a horrible feeling it's going to be a rerun of Rosemary's Baby!
Again. As if Shula wasn't enough!

Did somebody fall off a roof?
Not nearly as exciting as a tram falling off a viaduct.

Did somebody fall off a roof? No. Just Nigel. Might as well have been Captain.

Incredibly boring. Hardly "Shocking Ambridge to the Core" as the acronym had it. Now if it had been Brian Aldridge with a (now long forgotten) Epileptic fit doing 70 on the Borchester Bypass then that would have been something - Especially when they find out he's left everything to Emma. So hoping it was going to be Helen!

I reckon Nigel has fallen on top of Linda (and/or Adam), and Elizabeth catches them at it like seasoned up hyenas. Either that, or Nigel is an ex-Nigel, Lizzie gets put away in Titcombe's potting shed, and the twins are adopted by Snatch Foster and never heard of again. Or both.

I listened to the extended Archers this evening as well. I was distinctly underwhelmed, although I'm glad the baby is all right.

I'm not saying, in case it spoils it for somebody, though Ms Whitburn gave it all away on Today this morning in any case. Clumsy as hell.
Looks like Jazza's big chance to me. He's not fussy, after all.
