This is a film I watched last night: Mondo Weirdo.A girl who looks a bit like a boyish Yvonne Paulette (early Fall keyboard player) is traumatised by seeing two S&M lesbians at a club; the rest of the film consists mostly of her fantasies about sex and/with razor blades. The overall effect is of a punkish Un Chien Andelou - not porn, though there are hard-core bits. The copy I saw was more clear than the one shown here - more like this, though the other link had more of the music. Made by Carl Andersen, and worth seeing. The girl is played by Jessica Franco Manera; she only appears to have been in two more films, both directed by Andersen. Another title for the film is Jungfrau am Abgrund) which has young woman and abyss in it (Unseen? Deej?) - probably a better title than Mondo Weirdo. I mention this because I'm quite full of it at the moment, and because the film is part dedicated to Jess Franco, who seems to be quite popular on this site

"got me a movie ha ha ha ho slicing up eyeballs ha ha ha ho girlie so groovie ha ha ha ho don't know about you but i am un chien andalusia"
(any excuse to lay down some Pixies lyrics)
Um, anyway, I watched "From Hell" the other night, not quite as cultured I suppose, but Johnny Depp is way fucking cool...and it had that naughty minx "Nicole" (Estelle Skornik) from the old "Clio" adds in it.
Also stared Robbie Coltrane as well, pretty decent cast.

That's who she was!!! Thanks, Alpha!!
I enjoyed From Hell. I wasn't expecting much (the book was so good) but it had a really good atmosphere, and a good story. Johnny Depp was good; but he was way too young and good-looking, really.; he should have been middle-aged and tubby.
I was very pleased a few years back (god - 4 years back it was) to find myself in the William Gull ward in St Thomas's.
