Settle an argument: salt & vinegar on chips - which goes first? Aubrey is correct. The vinegar goes on AFTER the salt in order to soak it up. WHAT??? You're both mad. Where's Trubbs?

Jack Aubrey, is that? I once tried reading one of those books. At one point, where one bloke gives another bloke some gold coins, it said something like, he let a golden shower trickle into the man's hand. It was a really clumsy piece of overwriting. Some people just have no idea, do they?

Vinegar first, so the salt can stick to the chips. AH That settles it. The vinegar first team wins! Unless Trubbs comes along and screws it up.

The salt has to stick to the hot fat on the hot chips.
If it sticks to the vinegar, what's the point?

But the vinegar dissolves the salt.
Sea salt or rock salt? Or cheap salt from Tesco?
Balsamic, wine, or cider vinegar? Or cheap vinegar from Tesco?
