I prefer Sainsbury's for most things. I get everything I need there, without having to go to other shops. Lidl is great for value, but I find I have to faff around going elsewhere for some things. Marks and Spencer pomdorino tomatoes are definitely the best. I've tried Sainsbury's and Tesco's and they aren't as good. IMO of course. I did once buy some tiny tomatoes from Lidl's and they were excellent, but I don't know if that might have been a one off or if they are consistently good. M & S are.

That's the only real problem with Lidl/Aldi in my book — consistency in fresh produce. I usually shop at Morrisons and Aldi, which are almost next door in Oswestry. In Shrewsbury it's either Sainsbury or Lidl, and in Welshpool little shops, Morrisons, and/or Tesco. But I don't really like Tesco except for convenience and diesel. Oh, and I forgot the new Waitrose in the centre of Shrewsbury. Excellent quality and choice, at a price.

Is that a quote from, 'Waiting for Godot', Jean? {"My ambition is to do all my shopping in Ludlow."} I was reading the script of The Caretaker the other day (don't ask). “As far as I'm concerned, The Caretaker is funny, up to a point. Beyond that point, it ceases to be funny, and it was because of that point that I wrote it.” — Harold Pinter One can but agree.

Fek, I sounded all over-emotional and Chris-like there . . .I'l be closing the board down next. Nah...you didn't do it right Riot. You need far more self pitying blubbering....sort of 'I am unworthy of any of you least of all your friendship....sobs.... now get stuffed the lot of you!...' That's how you do it....apology thread 12 hours later once you've scraped the half eaten Indian from your keyboard, and removed your head from the electric oven and disposed of the scrawled hand written note...'good bye foul world...' One learns in time, and staying off the amber nectar helps. I'm a fool! (oh no...you've set me off Riot)
