This week I'm Nicaragua 'cos I've only been on the whisky! Though I did sneak off for some "Me Time" in town t'other day to try some of our local brewery's "Rum and Raisin" Beer. It was a bit like drinking a packet of Paynes Poppets. Albeit without the chocolate! Talking of beer! A friend has kindly upped the stocks of beer for us with a delivery just this morning Mixed case of 12. 19ft December Here comes the Pressies!

A little dull all round then. I know the feeling! Twas the week before Christmas and all through the shops. Not a person was shopping. It was a bit of a flop! We've run out of money. And that's a fact! We can't even afford. A Christmas Hat!

Sounds like you have been on the 12 pubs of Christmas crawl!. www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30539356I think 12 is OTT. Even for Christmas. I've done the mini-marathon (6 pubs) which is (obviously) a birthday crawl, (very handily there is a main street half a mile from here with exactly 6 pubs) and I didn't even manage the full six (one is situated slightly uphill and I was wearing heels) but truly this is an exercise where it is all about the taking part and not about winning. My dad is a veteran at the "Triangle" event. This takes place on boat holidays in a town where there are three pubs neatly situated so that you can virtually roll in and out of them without noticing you are changing venue. The handy thing about choosing the triangle version is that it is suitable for beginners, and (a bit like 20-20 cricket) for a more risky challenge you can fit it in during lunch, but if expert players want to extend the competition you can see how many times you can "triangle" in a single weekend. Ahh! Pub Crawling! Probably not since College Days. *sigh* If we do make it over this year - perhaps you can show us the way! I'll leave the heels at home!
