Carl Thatcher is a silly cow for making that remark. I guess we all deserve the freedom to be silly cows in our own time though.

I had a Golliwog - he had felt eyes, nose and mouth, and over the years they fell off leaving these gluey marks which made his face look rather scary to me - Didn't like.

I had a Golliwog - he had felt eyes, nose and mouth, and over the years they fell off leaving these gluey marks which made his face look rather scary to me - Didn't like. I had a home knitted one. It was quite sweet but I think the only thing I ever used it for was relating to the golly in the Enid Blyton books. It was allowed to sleep in my bed with the other toys but just so it wouldn't feel left out. Its buttons were a bit scratchy so it usually got the outside of the bed. The real ones were odd, scary, uncuddly. I remember people's gollies being minus their mouths etc too and gluey, Patrick. They are just no loss.

Golliwogs are happy. This is the reason for lovin them? In the miserable 21st century world of glumness, horror, war and recesion...yes, it is a reason. Golli's FTW! Patrick, I want a golliwog smiley please. AH

Well, no, there are laws against people like Carol but I cared for my Golly while I had it, no negligence really, I just preferred other dolls like my little black doll who had a blue spotty dress and was so pretty and looked like a human not a ... what are they supposed to be?
I had a golly string puppet too. I loved him very very much. No scratchy buttons.
Sorree! Pressed the wrong button again!
