The Bastard Motor Works (otherwise known as BMW) Have suggested that the British Government should take up what Germany has done and offer about £2000 for people to put towards a shiny new car. They say that it has helped lift car sales in the country. Odd really, cos on the same news pages there's also a report that Opel (the equivalent of Vauxhall in Germany) is about to go bust - and the Government there has suggested that it should - something to do with it being easier to get financial aid if it did.
Being a non driver - and in the interests of saving British Industry, should the above scheme go ahead, I shall write to the Government and ask them for at least £400 so I can put it towards the cost of a new bicycle, because the car scheme discriminates against non drivers.
