that light fat stuff isn't very nice ,a full fat cheese still tastes much better.you just eat a little less at a time .

The only cheese I buy regularly is cheddar - and extra strong at that. Can't be doing with mild stuff. I also buy parmesan for grating on pasta.
If we're having a get-together I'll buy other cheeses, but I always find that I end up throwing some away.
In any case, since Mr. E. and I were both tested and found to have moderately high cholesterol, we've made a concerted effort to eat less cheese. Except that today for lunch I had an everso version of croque monsieur*. But I did have some tomatoes with it.
*make a ham and cheese sandwich with two slices of granary bread. Beat one egg in a shallow dish and dip the sandwich in it turning it over so that it's well soaked on both sides. Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the sandwich over a medium heat until the cheese has melted.
