Best Beloved has just told me that she always thought one song went:
"Annie are you a Wookie?!"
....and for years I thought the same song contained the line:
"You've been hit by - You've been hit by - A Small Animal!"
Anyone have any others?

No. I understood all his words perfectly. He had very good diction. Check your ears, philistines.

I don't know who this is. It's probably obvious, though.
On the Fall site there is a great industry in sorting out ME Smith's Lyrics. There are a lot that will never be known for certain. There is also a fair bit of debate over what he means even when you can hear him. One hint: "How I wrote Elastic Man" is sung as "How I wrote Plastic man."
A letter to the misheard lyrics section that The Guardian used to have said that the writer misheard No Xmas for John Quays as No Xmas for Junkies - a fairly obvious pun, that.

Ah! If we're going elsewhere, one of my favourite misheards is Shania Twain:
"Looks like we made it Look how far we've come my baby We mighta took the long way We knew we'd get there someday
They said, "I bet they'll never make it" But just look at us holding on Becomes: Just Look at the scalded Nun[/color] We're still together still going strong "[/i]
The Missus had that as she came 'up the aisle' (so to speak) xcept their wasn't one. It would have been pretty naff if the words weren't so appropriate (minus The Scalded Nun)bit that is.
Some would say it's still pretty naff, but there you go.
