Watched the pilot and the two episodes that came after it...looks quite promising.
Love the ship they are knocking around in, it really does look ancient.
Very high production values as well, the whole look and feel of the show is terrific (lots of nBSG influence in there, incuding the music).

hope some genius can figure out how to fix the hyper drive so they can fly through that sun or they are overdone meat. In SG1 they were able to fix the hyper drive to fly through the sun.

As for the original Stargate SG-1, I am getting the whole 10 series box set for crimble...can't wait. AH Can I borrow that relative! Mind you - talk about price crashes once series have ended - Amazon were promoting the entire ER - all 15 series for about £90 the other day. Pretty good when they've been asking about £25 a series up til now! Collecting the Stargate has been bloody annoying - I was picking up the individual discs over originally - got halfway through season 3 and they stopped doing it! Now it's per-season (and the price has come down anyway), but I wish they'd give you all the options from the beginning. The BBC were the worst at this kind of thing - years ago they'd bring out episodes of programmes where they'd bodged two or three episodes together, cutting out the end and start titles of the episodes in between - so you'd get 1-2-3 with no titles in the middle. THEN! the bastards would bring out the full episodes and you'd have to buy that too! Channel Four did it with Father Ted as well - for a more recent example - They brought out a tape "The Best of" which had six episodes from the series. Then they brought out the box set with all three series in. BBC also did it with radio series. So a few years ago I was given Old Harry's Game on disc, with just two episodes each, from the first three series Now of course they have brought out the whole series together. Luckily my step Dad's a fan so I gave him my old ones, when I got the collection for Chrimbo last year. I think the practice should be banned!

Problem is, they never know how long a series is going to last, they were releasing SG1 DVD's when the series was still ongoing (I doubt they really imagined they'd get 10 seasons out of this, that is some run for a sci-fi series, quite unpresidented actually).
Anyways, if you are interested, it is currently around £110, but it was only £80 a few weeks ago (prices fluctuate like crazy on Amazon)...keep yer peepers on it, you could pick it up for £80 as an early crimbob presie.
Oh DVD tip, if you can wait, do wait...I could've waited for the complete nBSG box set that I *knew* would be out eventually (and very handsome it is!), but I just had to have each individual season as it came out on DVD.
