I was defurring the 'puter an hour or so back after the hard drive did it's dying swan impression again, and unfortunately the keyboard unclipped itself! Oh all right, I'd undone a couple of screws and was dusting underneath so I sort of caused it to unclip Good job I've got a plug in spare! innit!? Oi! Who said "No!" As the CD player also seems to have died, I think iit's time someone took a look at it. Ooops. Indeed.

Our cat (the real Aubrey) has twice managed to turn the image on the monitor on its side. I don't know he did it (though I did manage to get it back - with System Restore. God bless that function). Bloody clever cat, though.

The image on the monitor? You back the background on your desktop?

The desktop, and everything else (it does have a use - for those people (like my ex-boss) who want to put their monitor on its side).

Sorry my previous message only made half sense.
Your graphics driver probably has a shortcut key or something that allows you to rotate your display.
Have a look for an icon on the bottom right hand corner of your screen and right click on it and there should be something like "Graphics Properties" or something like this and in there you can probably rotate.
There might be a shortcut key that allows you to perform the action that your cat accidentally pressed.
If you PM me a screengrab from your PC I might be able to help you locate it.

It's OK, thanks. I know there's a way of doing it, and I once found it and I think disabled it; there were instructions there for a keyboard shortcut which probably involves alt or cntrl and something else.
I just liked the way he managed to find it twice when none of us have been able to find it once.
