I saw a programme on BBC4 tonight about Gracie Fields.
Now I have an earworm called Sally.

I didn't watch it as I can't stand her voice.
It sounds like someone being strangled with barbed wire.

Actually it was quite interesting, although I'm not keen on her voice either, as a rule.

Despite her status as a National symbol etc etc, it was always interesting to note that Spike Milligan in his memoirs recalls himself and his armypals doing their best to escape from Gracie Fields! Not to mention that "Bloody Awful Warsaw Concerto"

After watching this Gracie thing the other night, I now know quite a bit about her. She married twice and her second husband was Italian.
In the middle of Debenhams this morning, Mr. E. decided to do an impression of him. I was very embarrassed but I had to laugh.
His Italian accent is dire.
