When is anyone going to have the guts to make a big budget proper film about this tortured genius? His life albeit sad was never dull...a brilliant guy. A loner mostly (the vey best people always are) in Paris he'd spend the evening figuring out ways of getting a meal and a bed for the night. One female aquaintaince described him as being 'deeply unattractive and smelling of whiskey and urine...' There's been one recent attempt at a proper film (the Hollywood Kirk Douglas movie was dire).. an independent Dutch movie from what I have gathered... Following the documentary ‘Vincent - The Life and Death of Vincent Van Gogh’, The ‘Vincent van Gogh in Etten’ Foundation produced a Dutch movie titled ‘Vincent van Gogh, een zaaier in Etten’ [Vincent van Gogh, a sower in Etten].
The movie is about Vincent van Gogh and his relation with Etten. The motion picture is based on research which was conducted by Ron Dirven, a self-proclaimed Van Gogh expert, and Rebecca Nelemans. In the movie Van Gogh is portrayed by actor Jochum ten Haaf, known for his role as Vincent in the British theatre production ‘Vincent in BrixtonEtten is a small village in the south of the Netherlands. I wish to travel back in time and hug this guy (despite the smell of piss) and tell him his paintings are truly remarkable. Which of course they are. But I do wish they'd make a big budget proper film showing his life warts and all. Here is one very bad attempt...

A Segment of Akira Kurosawa's movies titled Dreams.. in this clip a young man gets to meet Vincent Van Gogh played surprisingly by a one Martin Scorsese. Fascinating. _________________ ...sorry but vincent and his life is becoming something of an obsession for me now. cvc.csusb.edu/VincentVanGogh.htm

I've never really taken to VVG. And from the little I know about him he seemed a bit of a drama queen, all that business with his ear.
I quite like his use of colour, but he wasn't much good at drawing chairs.

Just use the English pronunciation. It's a lot easier.

No fear. Weyland will tell me off. Not at all, Ev. Merely sentence you to some "community service" at Castle Yutani. Punishment optional. Complimentary Chanel in every chamber. Just to be on the safe side, I think I'd better check your pronunciation in person. I'll send the limo . . .
