This new version from the you tube clips...looks awesome. I might drag myself to the cinema for the first time in years to see it. ...despite the mobile phones, the whispering, the crackling of sweetwrappers, the suction sound of teeth hitting giant sausage dog, the crying bairns.... on second thoughts I'll wait for the DVD. No wonder Warner bros are making DVD the priority with miserable grouchy loners like me about.

I fucking detest the cinama...our generation have become accustomed to watching films on our own terms and without noisy, annoying dickheads ruining the atmosphere for us.
AH (fellow miserable grouchy loner)

I'm getting quite excited too. I hope Mr. E. wants to see it.
He probably won't though.
I'm also getting excited about The Oscars this Sunday.

I think I want to go to the pictures with Costal to see this. I remember seeing a film called something not unlike Alice in Wonderland some time in the 80s, probably in Frankfurt. 3-D would have been over-egging the puddings.

Last time I went to the cinema it was at the NFT. Anyone talking there would get - something nasty anyway. Someone turned up late - after the lights had gone down, but before the film started, and someone else hissed "You ought to get here earlier!" And if you think it's impossible to hiss a sentence without an "s" in it, you'd be wrong.

I like the old types of cinemas. With ice cream at half time and a sound system that doesn't blow your head off. Sadly these are few and far between now.

The old type of cinema, where the only thing people ate was a Mivvi at half time. The upstairs of the Odeon in Romford used to be really steep and I sometimes now have dreams that I'm up there and in danger of falling. It's hard to believe that cinemas that big used to sometimes sell out and there would be standing room only at the back. I once queued all the way round the Odeon to see a Norman Wisdom film (and still didn't get in). Mr. E. and I were upstairs in the circle at the Odeon once (I think it was to see Bonnie and Clyde) when some joker let off a rocket in the stalls (it was near Guy Fawkes night). I can remember how we roared with laughter (not realising what the consequences could have been).

Mini-Trub (even bigger Tim Burton fan than Costal) has just returned from seeing Alice in Wonderland and she was speaking just like Costal does, all waaahh and exciTED and it's the best film she's seen in ages and SOOO SOOOO AMAZING SHE'S JUST GONNNA DIE OR EXPLODE OR GO POP OR SOMETHINK and she and her friends dressed up as characters from the film to go, she was the Hare, and the bread-and-butterflies fly out into you and it's brilliant. She says. Now I want to go too.
