www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00rvwj1/The_Delicious_Miss_Dahl_Romance/having seen quite a bit about this new program in the press and online i thought i'd have a look see. i didn't hate it. but she's no Nigella or Nigel Slater. one suspects that all the prep and most of the on air cooking is done by someone who actually enjoys food.....Sophie is not yet a good enough actress to make us believe that behind her tentative chopping technique and embarrassed giggles and grins lies the true architect of the dishes and recipes she appears to demonstrate. it's a very pretty program though....i give it 6/10...but i may not bother to watch another episode or buy the cookbook.

One could say "Nepotism Rules", but seeing as Daddy hasn't been around for a good while now - could hardly be. I just avoided it because it's yet another cooking programme sold on image. I'm waiting for Jeremy Clarkson to do one, it's only a matter of time after all!

Is Miss Dahl delicious? we should be told. One can dream, mate'o'mine, one can dream. (I do very much like dhal, especially urad and tarka, but that's a whole different kettle of pulses altogether.)

(Serves millions.) ____________

I can see why the boys like her, she's young and pretty and I'll give her that. But, I'm sorry, I found it really boring. I much prefer Nigella, although, even then, I get fed up with her pretending that she rides around on buses and stuff.
Delia's the girl if you're interested in proper cooking.

Nigella is pretty but unbearable to watch.. all that BS lifestyle crap shes trying to flog, kooking in a house that probly isnt even her house and its just obvious transparent aspirational tv.. it boring. i havent seen the sophie dahl programme but from clips ive seen its the same kinda set up. not interested. and she needs to put some weight on. her eyes bulge out of her head like an alien.

I'd like to go on record as agreeing with every word of my best mate Costal's. (But it cannot be denied that Nigella has some extremely tasty ingredients.)

(But it cannot be denied that Nigella has some extremely tasty ingredients.) nigella started off with the cooking when her husband and father of her kids was dying of cancer - well someone had to bring home the bacon didn't they? she always gives the impression that she genuinely likes food, cooks it, and eats it without throwing it up later. DeliSophie gives the impression that she would like to like food but still remembers being teased as the fat kid at school and being vilified as the fat model by the gutter press. Ms Dahl is barely an eater, let alone a cook.

I think me and Weyland should have a kooookery show, i would watch it. We're very big on on-board catering at the Corporation. It's good for crew bonding. For example, here's a typical dinner scene on the M-Class Tug Nostromo, just before a new crew member arrived:
