Did anyone watch the final of the final last night? I rather expected Dhruv Baker to win - he was pretty consistent with dishing up good food. The baby doctor was my second with the young beardy coming in third.
One question: Why are they all such cry babies nowadays?

in masterchef the final, do you think the 2 men ( i carnt remember their names) are nicer about the peoples koooking? or do you think the food is really that good? i was just wondering cos theyrte being very complimentary, but then it wouldnt look very good in the final if they were still saying the food wasnt good enough... _________________

I havent seen the final yet but it is always the case that the presenter guys suddenly turn really nice at the end and are much less critical.
Also it is usually obvious who is going to win by about the semi-finals and then they spend the rest of the shows trying to pretend the other people are close to winning but it was obvious that Dhruv in this case was going to win.

Yes, I've noticed that they get complimentary in the finals, whereas they've been ripping them apart up to the semis. See, I've been saying all this for a while but Mr. E. tells me off for being cynical. The restaurant bit every week, where the three hopefuls work in a professional kitchen, starts off where usually they make a hash of things, with Greg and John shaking their heads and rolling their eyes, but somehow it all comes together at the end. IT'S THE SAME EVERY WEEK! Do they think we don't notice these things? Similarly Supernanny - does anyone watch that? Probably not. Anyhow, that follows exactly the same pattern every time. The weak ineffectual parents and the dreadful kids get a sound talking to by Supernanny and gradually it all gets better, then Supernanny decides to leave the parents to get on with it for a few days, in which time the kids revert to their former awful behaviour. Then Supernanny arrives once more, ticks them all off and hey presto! It's all hunky dorey.

what used to annoy me was they used the actual same voice-over bit every programme.. the bit about 'after 6 hours on their feet, there is no let up as its back to Masterchef HQ..' it all gets very groundhog day sometimes, specialyy with it being on every day..

And who is that woman who does the voiceover? What a silly put-on voice.
I take her off rather well I think.
