20:00 Radio4 20:30 ITV1
Having consulted the tea leaves, I can sum it all up ten hours in advance:
Brown: It wasn't me, guv, honest. I was only giving orders.
Cameron: Just rub this lamp and make three wishes.
Clegg: Vince'll Fix It.

I'm not going to watch it. I'm going to watch a Catherine Ringer film instead.

I know when you get one Earthquake you usually get a couple more afterwards as other 'plates' across the planet settle down and shift in sympathy, but it must be five or six big ones we've had now! I may start to watch this debate thingy, but the lot of them just make me so cross I'll probably just wait for the highlights/final verdict. I suppose we could all gather here later for a Meet the Leaders party - as with the Eurovision etc, and see who falls asleep first.

I'm sorry, but all this rubbish about having a t.v. debate - well it smacks of Americanism (not that I'm against the US - as you all know, it's my favourite place next to the UK). Frankly, we don't do American things that well. Take the happy clappy stuff in church. The Yanks excel at that sort of thing and I was once in church in Florida attending my cousin's christening so I can vouch for the wonderful way they do it. But, in this country? Well, apart from the few beardys that go along with it, whenever I've been in a church in this country (weddings, christenings etc.) the "hug your neighbour and say peace be with you" stuff is always done with a kind of embarrassed air because we know we look daft and we don't mean it.
It's the same with the debate. It's going to look silly an amateurish and very self-conscious because it's not the sort of thing that the British do.

Apparently the audience will be told to behave themselves. Quite a few folk round about (journalists amongst them) hope that the crowd will be allowed a little Panto-esque booing and hissing should they feel the need!

I watched "Rambo IV" on Blu-Ray instead...it was fucking horrific (but in a .50 calibre pornography at it's limb-chopping, body mutilating best kind of way). AH

Anyone going to be watching this evening? I'm curious to know what will be said about Gordon's Gaff.

Anyone going to be watching this evening? I'm curious to know what will be said about Gordon's Gaff. Yes indeed. I'll be recording it to show the great-grandchildren. I doubt it'll be mentioned, at least directly. I already thought Brown was finished, before Rochdale, and I'm pretty sure he'll just be digging an even deeper hole this evening. Cameron will dry up and blow away. Clegg for King!

I listened/watched the last two so I might as well listen in - I think radio is a more pleasant way to experience it.
