They're only poor because they won't get off their arses and work. I'm tired of hearing how 'poor' Glasgow is, and how bad the health of Weegies is, etc. etc. etc. Glasgow is not a poor city. Scotland is not a poor country. This land is full of opportunity. But if you're happy to spend your dole on some spliff and a few cans of lager, then sit watching Jeremy Kyle all day bemoaning your lot, none of these opportunities are going to be popping by.

Did you see the link on the side of the page that sets out the statistics for Glasgow!? It's a shame. It's a shame that these "surveyors/researchers" just go out and find the "easy" targets - and I surmise myself here - based on stereotype (perhaps). Take some of the coastal towns. How many times over the years do you find front page surveys saying things like (I remember)"St Leonard's Hastings 'The suicide capital of Britain'" which was a favourite ten years ago. Or here in Morecambe, where ten years before the above headline, used to get loaded with every outcast that Manchester could throw at it and got called "The Dole Capital of Britain" Is it perhaps because we have too many Universities and they have too much time on their hands, so all they can think of doing is the same old research based on the same old research?
As for this article - why didn't Sheffield University study - well - Sheffield?? That's a dump!
