I havent been able to sit too long at the puter since the accident (getting better now fanks, just the torn trapeze-thingy to resolve) so have been dabbling in fewer forums. Sorry chaps. Also this site is sometimes a bit confusing to my simple brain....I get a bit confused with the names, some of you are someone else someWHERE else, etc. MiL nearly died on Saturday, she had double pneumonia, collapsed lung, several medium sized clots in her lungs, and a massive clot in her thigh. She is still very poorly ...her heart is arking up now. It is day by day. Anyway, I wanted to say hello and that you are all really such great posters. I hope you didn't think I had rudely buggered off. Life sometimes gets a bit ... overwhelming.... One more thing: does anyone live in Stafford? I do have a good reason for asking......fanks. xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know of a poster from Stafford........
Complete limerick at own risk!
........but he's not here I'm afraid. Though if he's still on JSG someone might ask him there for you.
You're not missing much.Seems it's quiet time at the moment anyway Lil. I expect the grass has become greener elsewhere, and the sunshine is the cause of much enjoyment and healthy outdoor activity! No worries though - like that little oasis of silence (outdoors) contained within every big sporting event here is the place you can relax and take it easy!
Stub Crouch - it's a Cadbury's Caramel thing.

Not missed much? Only my posting of Mark E Smith's world cup song, that's all.
All that sounds really nasty for your MiL, Lil; I've had some of those things, but not as much - just one clot, etc - and not all together, but that was bad enough. I hope she's ok. (Rat poison (for the clots) and not much movement (for the pneumonia), is what I had for it.)
I also get the thing of not wanting to sit at the computer for long, but for me it's ok the next day. And then I can post as much nonsense as I like.

Oh Aubrey, you haven't had much luck have you... MiL is still very poorly but a bit better and not in pain, thank goodness. Re: Stafford.....You see, it's like this. Mr Lily needs to buy some parts for his project ( an old Triumph Stag that he is doing up) and a bloke in Stafford has some. It is now a matter of "well how I can I put money in your bank, you might be a crook" and "well how can I send off the bits to some bloke in aus. who might never pay me". I thought, if anyone lives near this bloke they might know of his garage. Long shot but one never knows. xxx Any advice most welcome. xx

I've not been around so much recently either. Bit of trubble at t'mill at home again, plus I've been elevated to the postion of mod on another board, and got a bit sucked into that.
Plus, of course, it's the summer, and everyone is out and about that bit more.

I have been bored of the boards (see what I did there? ) for a while and I am going to be busier anyway. Got a new job placement starting on Monday - a training one which will hopefully become permanent after the training period. My parents are coming over today, and will be staying until Monday week too

We just got back today from a week's holiday in Salcombe (mentioned elsewhere). I had access to my daughter's laptop for a couple of days but then that went tits up so I've been cut off from the world.
Our weather in the micro climate of South Hams, Devon, was excellent - although it did drizzle a bit when we attempted a barbeque last Sunday. Some photographs may follow on Photofit.
I now have about a ton of washing to do as I took all the bedding for everyone.
Salcombe is fab.

My brother in law and wife take a cottage in Salcombe every year around this time. Jack had grandparents who lived there, so has fond memories of the place.
In his sailing days, we went camping there in August. It was desperately crowded and rather put me off Devon altogether - the coastal bits at least. When we returned to visit Jack's nan one winter it seemed significantly more peaceful.
I'm hoping to go walking on Dartmoor this year or next; you can keep the coastal parts of Devon, just leave me the wild bits.

Does anyone actually live in Salcombe? Or is it all holiday cottages? Think I can bet easily on the answer! ;D

Does anyone actually live in Salcombe? Or is it all holiday cottages? Think I can bet easily on the answer! ;D As I understand it, Pat, the population is pretty much depleted in the winter months. Lil: some photos will be appearing on PHOTOFITHousey: Salcombe is nice in early June - I love the countryside but the coastline in this area is wonderful and as we drive towards Salcombe I get a real "lift". We usually have either the first or second week and in the 7 years that we've been coming here we've never had bad weather, and this year was exceptionally good. We avoid the school holidays because of the crowds.

Seeing as this board appears to be experiencing a bit of a sort of moribundish episode kind of frame-of-reference thingy, I naturally thought to myself, "Consult the Oracle -- RiotGrrl!", as one does. So I went to the crossroads, drew a pentacle, lit the candles, loaded the silver bullets, sharpened the stake, donned a Celtic shirt, put on a garlic necklace, sang The Blaydon Races, and summoned The Dread Link up from the trackless wastes of the Howling Ether, may God have mercy upon my soul. But whatever I do, it points me to the Madrigal Lounge. Please help.

I'm just really busy and stressed at work, things at home are a bit up and down, and frankly, am finding myself running out of things i want to say on messageboards.
But i'm still around!
I'm just taking a little summer holiday offline! (Lol.)
Got some photos I have been meaning to post on Photofit, so I need to get round to that as well.

Fair weater posters on here - rather, foul weather, since when the weather gets better everyone goes outside. There's something unhealthy in that.
(I had to go out today. And I'll have to go out tomorrow as well.)(Still.)
Or maybe it's that the heat is enervating, if that's the word I want.
