i ave noticed for a while this phenomenomenomenom.. so i figured iu would aKKKSSRRRKK on here cos you knowledgable folks are sure to know the answer, im certain one of you must know.. ROIGHT, the thing is this.. you know when you charge up yer gadgets? yer mobile phones, yer MP3 players, yer I-Pods and whathaveyer..? Twell, i have noticed, that once i have charged up a gadget (happened just yesterday in fact, with my mobile phone) the GADGET FEELS DECIDEDLY HEAVIER.  NOw i can think of no good reason as for why this should be, but i am almost certain that gadgets are heavier when they have been charged up than beforehand, when they are running low. Your thoughts and explanations please. |

no narcotics were involved in the conception of this thread, i assure you, drugs, as my old nanny Burton used to say, are for mugs. NOW, i dont have a i-pod , but my mp3 and my mobile phone DEFINETELY FEEL HEAVIER once charged.. i'm not talking a LOT.. but a noticeable difference in the weight.. 'owever i do not have any electronic scales so i cannot conduct the experiment. would anyone care to volunteer to do some scientific research in this very important field of gadget weight exploration? a nobel prize could be yours, i shoulldnt wonder, if we stumble upon some new and exciting findings ...

Excellent thread!  My dearest Costal please don't go away again. I beg you.  As for mobile phones I loathe them. Don't understand these buffoons who waltz about with blackberries and things. ipads look even worse...I want to sit down when I'm on the internet and type properly... Costal..it psychological...you believe that by charging your phone it's instantly housing lots of tiny little elves who were drifting through cyberspace until they found a home in your phone...which is what charging is of course.  |

Alph..was you really making that up???! cos it sounds plausible to me. Which one of you lot owns some electric scales? for weigihng electrick on?? i ask NAY DEMAND that one of you good folks goes orff n does a little experiment. Else i shall be taking my gadgets down the green grocerers , and asking if he dont mind weighing my mobile phone before and after.. a bit like the phone eqwuivelent of slimmer of the year competition. I dont think a green grocer is gonna think much of that concept, no matter how well i might try n explain it to him. :/ I'm not much of a one for gadgets neither Chris, btw (by the way) Only just a few months ago got round to upgrading my phone.. for the first time in my life i have ap hone what takes photographs! IMAGINE! how crazy is that?... |

i dont like elves, or pixies, or gnomes or any of that hobgobblin family, they all give me the creeps, qwuite frankly. little little men, with pointy ears and beards and silly hats.. silly felt hats and aladdin shoes, and pervert faces.. theyre well wrong, the whole bleedin lot of em. i dont do racism but you need to draw a line somewhere, and for me, the line is little little creepy men with pervert faces, hanging out in my garden.

How do you upgrade a mobile? Never done it, at all.
Elves, Pixies, Goblins, etc are bad news. Well, maybe not elves, but Fairies definitely are. They don;t like us, and are quick to take offence - I mean, so quick that it's really just an excuse. And watch out if they give you some of their food! You'll pay for it, god you'll pay.

Ok, i didnt so much 'upgrade' as get a new phone. my old phone was a museum piece, but it made calls and txts so that was all i reqwuired of it.. eventually though it started going off in the middle of calls for no reason at all.. ALSO it was a pay as you go one, and i realised it was costing me about £40 a month buying credit for it ( the majority of which was used on txts!!) so i got a brand new phone on a contract, unlimited txts (YAY!) and 300 minutes of calls for £15.00 a month. Most months i dont even use the 300 minutes, thats a LOT.. about 5 hours innit? (unfortunately, with it being a camera phone i now rack up massive bills sending photo txt messages of my willy to everyone- photo txts cost extra. ) thats not actually true btw. its true the picture txts cost extra i mean.. the txting my willy bit was not true. |

Along similar lines; Has anyone noticed that - subconscious or not - Artificial light makes a noise? A room with the light switched off seems quieter than with the light switched on. I've spoken to people on the phone before and the background noise has been subdued - when asked, it turns out they have the light off. Just a theory.
