No, not some whiny teenager's durgey lament. Just about the way things are round here!
Kitchen spotlights: Broken - well, one works and I've got a new set of lights to put up there but it's a bugger of a job.
DVD-Video: Video chews up tapes now. Six years old.
Telephone: Just replaced with guilty consumerism because the old one has funny batteries that cost a tenner each to replace (and there are two phones) The phone let you talk for about ten minutes before dying. So picked up a new set of phones for less, Original Phones were £70! Have had them about seven years.
Computer: Has been making grinding noises in the region of the graphics card for a while now - colour goes a bit haywire and it often shuts down if things get a bit intense on screen. Lo and behold the CD packed up two days ago. It starts, whirrs into action then makes a noise like a 1970's spin drier and dies. Five years old.
.........and finally.
Last night, whilst printing out an enlarged version of the instructions for the phone, the printer started making clonking noises! It tells me it has a hardware error - and according to the the man in my local printer shop - when the catridges start trying to break out of the machine then it's time to get a new one!
Whilst I was growing up, most of the stuff we had, we'd had for years. The same goes for my Grandparents - Radios, Record Players, all merrily ancient yet still working.
I hate technology!
