Here at Stub Crouch we pride ourselves on being able to wander off topic all over the place - after all - it's what having a conversation is all about. However if you started a subject that's dear to your heart and you want people to stick to it - Help is at hand. Any sudden stream of O/T posts can now be moved away to their very own thread. Just ask!

It doesn't worry me if my threads go off topic. I rather enjoy this board being like a virtual conversation, with its easy-going ways and daft sense of humour, but if other board members feel a bit peeved when this happens I'm not against them requesting that the offenders posts are moved.

To me, the rambling virtual conversation on here is the main reason I like it, and there'd have to be a very good reason indeed to knock it on the head. There's a great mix of types on here, and yet we all seem to get on. Too good to be true? Apparently not. (I wasn't feeling so good on Friday when I logged in to Chat at about 22:30, stayed until after 23:00, and nobody else appeared. Bastards.)

If you really cared about the subject of your thread, it might be annoyng.
But I am glad mine about who said horrible things about me where has been submerged as I don't care now, and I'd hate anyone to think I might.
(Except that I've just revived it now, here...)

I see it as a conversation and, like any conversation, it may start here and finish way over there. If you like threads that stay strictly on topic, try BBC R4. Anna will soon teach you how.

So, let's agree that if anyone feels strongly about a particular topic - for instance (and I hesitate to get Trubbs worked up again) if something serious like whether a trifle should contain jelly or not is discussed - then, yes, maybe a complaint could be made.

Trifle without jelly? Is this some poncey, yuppie innovation?

Shall I unsticky this one too? Have we all lost interest in the ability of the mods to move around off-topic posts?
