Housing Crises? Move to Bulgaria!

Just tapped "House" into ebay - and just look at this luxuriously wonderful bijou residence that's available in fashionable Bulgaria for just £6,900!

It just get's better! A little further down from that - at just £4.700 is This beauty! From the same seller I think! I see this has an added bonus - it's obviously being sold with the bonus of a luxury car thrown in!



Of course, mustn't laugh really - after all - how did the French boom take off in the sixties and seventies - by Brits buying wrecks of Farmhouses nobody wanted. Can't help feeling that Bulgaria is a little bit more out of the way though, somehow!

In all honesty Patrick, I'm quite tempted.

I find all Eastern Europes a bit freakish anyway, so at least I'd expect to feel like an outsider and wouldn't be baffled by it.

It's hot in summer, proper snow in winter.

House prices dirt cheap.

I seriously quite fancy it. Is it near an airport?

There's a third one that's just 45 minutes from the nearest airport apparently! I wouldn't be surprised if - like Poland - Bulgaria may be on the up in the future - so perhaps now is indeed the time to buy!

I note that all these places mention "Needing a little work!" It's ironic to think that just a few years ago you could pick up remote Scottish places for this sort of money - then the English came circling even more than they did before!

Hmm. It's reassuring to know that the seller, Tronex Limited "is registered in England and Wells." I prefer to do all my business with those trustworthy Somerset types!

Seriously though - If somewhere was water tight and could be simply made warm and comfy - It would be nice to just "disappear".
