Do we need this new word 'meh' in our dictionaries? Is it any use whatsoever?

I think the first time I noticed it was from Motorist - perhaps we should ask him?

I quite like it, and I use it myself now and then...
Person: "ho, Alph, have you seen the new Star Trek trailer"
Alph: "Meh, Trek is lame...long live the Galactic Empire!"
...and suchlike.

'Trek is lame...long live the Galactic Empire' works just as well without Meh unless Meh means a blatant lie.

Oh, and I don't know how the dictionary defines it, but for me, it is an expression of complete and utter disinterest, being greatly underwhelmed and generally unimpressed...all packed into three usefull little letters. I think it is a good word. AH

Try slipping in an 'antimacassar' or two somewhere tomorrow. I shall be keeping an eye out for all of you doing this and am setting up a leader board to record the results. I wonder, is ours the generation that will see the very last of the antimacassar? I hope you don't think that counts. It has to be on another board. The more boards the more points obviously and it won't count if you're just repeating someone else's use of it eg: Yes, we might be the last generation to experience the antimacassar, Patrick, but I doubt that's a tragedy.

Antimacassars were actually very good for doing Queen Victoria impressions.
I wonder what the promacassar lobby have to say about that?

Although I found them most useful for pretending to be a bride. Aw, bless. Tell you something else that you don't see much of now. Curtain Pelmets. We had plain box ones above our curtains years ago. Useful for attaching Chrimbo Deco's to or putting cards or ornaments on. You see some really fancy vulgar ones around now - along with your fusty fabric curtain bustle things, but no old fashioned plain pelmets.
