Have a great day, Riot!

Thank you for your fireworks and songs.
I am 45 today and am freaking out as I am now undoubtedly of mature years, but I still feel like a daft wee lassie a lot of the time.
Incidentally, I'm at my work. I don't like to 'do' birthdays to a huge extent, although we did go out for cocktails and absinthe at the newly refurbished and reopened Champagne Bar in the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. Which was nice.

45? I can barely remember it... Actually I can - it was just before I gave up my safe job in the UK and went to live in Italy (I was 47 then.)

Costal, I got a new handbag (Mischa Barton apparently - who knew she made handbags now?) which is not dissimiliar to my last handbag from Gothboy. And my Mum and Dad sent me a top that I don't really like and a tacky photoframe that I probably won't use. That's it so far. I'm not big on birthdays, I tell ya. This is my new handbag. It's a good size - you could get a small child in it.

How odd. The photo of the new handbag is not visible, but the advertising block beside Patrick's very first Youtube post has switched to the Debenham's site and the handbag tha tI stole the picture from.

What are your plans for this evening Riot? I turned 43 this year. The forties are apparently the 'new thirties'. So you are only 35. Everso is still in her forties in that case...the fifties being the new forties. When I was 18 I thought 40 was so ancient. I was of course wrong. I mostly feel contented and mostly happy now. I wouldn't change anything. Loneliness and depression my two black mongrels for ever present...but I've learned how to tame them. Middle age is okay.

Chris, I was 60 in March. 60 is the new black. Actually, we teenagers of the sixties have always had it just right. Every decade we've reached has been the new something. We Kinks fans just refuse to grow up (ask Weyland

Unless of course you are prepared to have an affair?
