. . . where the hell is Weyland? Lost his broadband connection, allegedly. Well where was the last place he saw it? If he retraces his steps it'll be where he left it. Is he still in abroad?

No. He writes:
My broadband at home is down right now. Please tell the usual suspects.
So I suppose it escaped while he was away.
(I leave you to speculate about how he managed to get this information to me.)

He rode on a horse called Roland to your house to tell you to tell us his broadband was down? That Weyland! What's he like?

Weyland has forsaken us! Losing the broadband connection is no excuse, frankly. He knows we're getting all S.A.D. and this snow hasn't helped. I'm feeling very very down today. Essex is getting pretty crazy with the snow and Mr. E. still thinks we might be able to drive up to Edinburgh tomorrow! If you see us on t.v., stuck in a snowdrift somewhere in Northumberland, you'll know he got his way.

The airport was closed for a while (not sure if it's open again or not yet.) My Edinburgh-based colleagues who live on the outskirts of town or in the Lothian villages are unable to get to work. Glasgow's got the least snow in Scotland it seems, and about 4 - 6 inches have fallen here, so Goodness knows what it's like elsewhere. It was snowing again this morning, which makes it the 4th or 5th day in a row that it's snowed in Glasgow.

Riot, I'm sure we won't chance it. It's just that we've been planning this trip for a few weeks, all the Christmas presents for Matt and Hannah are wrapped up and I was sooooo looking forward to the gluhwein in the Christmas market. I think we will have to postpone it until after Christmas though.

It may bring loads of that wet sticky snow that causes havoc instantly. Then the spell will be broken (East Wind Wise) and it might actually reach the heady heights of 6 or 7 degrees at the weekend!!

my mind is broken and my heart is broken and also i am broke. and c-c-c-coldnessness. You need a Tim Minchin hit. cheeeeers Trubbs still feel blue.. tim michin did not help at ALL im afraid, carnt stand him. sorreeeeeeeee. im not a big fan of comedy songs in general... i was thinking about it the other day, and its because of this.. comedy songs are rarely funny. if you took the words out of the comedy song, and just read the words, usually what you get is a pretty half arsed, not especially funny joke. ( yes victoria wood, i am thinking about that crappy old song youve been singing at every opportunity for the last 20 years.) so i can only deduce that we are supposed to be hoodwinked by the half arsed jokes, by the fact that they have been sqwwueezed into the format of a song, and are therefore meant to applaud and laugh in delight at the wonderment of a song that contains joke lyrics. well i dont. i think it is inadeqwuate mostly, and generally weak and sometimes depressing. i shull not be hoodwinked by rubbish jokes being sung at me. rant concluded.

. . . where the hell is Weyland? Lost his broadband connection, allegedly. No allegedly about it, Jean Jeanie . Land line was jiggered by a combination of builders working a mile away and frozen underground junction boxes. It's taken BT this long to fix it. And I'm not 100% sure it's 100% fixed.

But you're here again safe and sound.

That's ok, Costal, I don't much like Tim Minchin either (Bill Bailey is funny though). My sister has been bombarding me with Tim Minchin recently and I got swayed for a moment. I think she was trying to find out if I'd like tickets to see him. Luckily she has plumped for tickets to see Jimmy Carr instead.

Hello!!! I just re-read this whole thread and am now sobbing uncontrollably. No one ever answered my bee musings. My life will now have to be scrutinised to see where I am going wrong. Jean, it has been eleven months of shite. I cannot lay that on you. You are too nice. xxxxxxx
