I've mislaid my thermal vests. I must have put them away in the spring, but for the life of me I can't remember where.

I've mislaid my thermal vests. I must have put them away in the spring, but for the life of me I can't remember where. I can sympathise, Sparra, but from a different angle. It's bloody freezing here, and my thermals are on the other side of the North Sea. However, I do at least know where they are.

My night LJs are on. And I've brought another pair up to Yorks to wear in the day time just in case.
One day I'm going to get myself a pair of Jimmy Fimlayson coms, with a trapdoor in the back, and never take them off.

People recommend merino wool, but it is expensive. Certainly too expensive to get muddled up wuth the hot wash, or get shoved into the tumble drier by mistake.
It has been known....

It's pretty cold here today already. I blame Clegg. ~ ~ ~ Technical Note Department: Looking at the mark-up of your link, Ev, I see glow tags. What's supposed to happen? All I see is purple text. Methinks they're exaggerating just a tad. Even The Met Office website (which I've been following) doesn't present it in quite such a doom laden way. It remains to be seen........ Some of the weather forecasters are on Twitter - you often get little forecasts from then before it's out.

Carol seemed to be talking it down a little bit this morning - but they do that don't they when they don't know what's going to happen really? At the beginning of the week it's all "The end of the world is nigh" - then they tone it down a bit in a bit of a panic just before it happens - then if it does end badly they can say "We told you so" and if it doesn't - they're covered for that too!
