www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11837538New Conservative peer Howard Flight has issued an "unreserved" apology for saying child benefit changes would encourage the poor to "breed".
In a statement issued by the party, Mr Flight said he would like to withdraw the remark, made to a newspaper.Where does the 'nasty' start in Tory...and where does it end? These sort of people are retarded. In my view. They aren't so much out of touch as just mentally defficient. I had no idea that care in the community (another Tory winner) extended to the House of Lords. Or perhaps I'm just naive.

He just said it too early, that's all. It'll be the basis of govt policy soon.
I wish we could get Cat Benefit.

Actually, it seems a very stupid thing to have said. Stupid because it won't make poorer people in our society any more likely to breed than they do now - they'll still be getting the same amount of child benefit.

Mind you - who hasn't caught a clip of one of these Jeremy Kyle shows and wondered whether we ought to bring in compulsory sterilisation for some of them? Re: Cat Litter - having witnessed an enormous jump in the price of the stuff recently from £7 for 30 litres to about £9 - we now buy four bags at a time from Pets at Home and have it delivered.

As a cat owner of 11 days standing now...I propose free cat litter for anyone earning less than £stupid.00 I use chicken feed for cat litter and it works very well. It is a little bit like "World's Best Cat Litter" in that it is a natural clumping litter but a lot cheaper. You can also flush it down the toilet which makes things much simpler. The exact name of the one I use is layers mash which is £7.60 for 20kg. We have four cats who are all indoor cats, and use about 1 bag a month something like that.

You can actually train cats to use the loo. I saw a website for it once, telling you how to train them. One of my daughter's cats used to jump in the bath and wee down the plughole when he was taken short. I don't think he does it now though. She once saw him balancing on the loo seat, but he couldn't get a grip.

You can train them but you need to start early and it is a rather messy and annoying process.

Our twin sister cats were free range - own front door and everything. But when they were kittens getting the hang of their new abode we found that the little one wouldn't use the litter tray. We took advice and were told that sometimes cats don't share one tray. So we bought another, and big sister promptly used them both.
Cat flap went in pronto.

Bonbon, don't try to take a cat for a walk. It won't thank you for it. Also, one thing that puzzles me: why are cats so fussy about their food when they think nothing of licking their bum clean?

they don't wash their paws in anti bacterial cleanser either before they eat.
