Please everybody extend a warm welcome to Wonder Woman, a terrific poster that I 'met' on Bitbot.
Unfortunately, Bitbot has gone the way of JSG, with sheer hate taking over from rational debate, so I have left, but I have left an invite to anyone who wants to come and join us here (with a few exceptions!) to do so.
(Don't worry; I've told them all that we do nothing on here but talk rubbish.)
Wonder Woman is a great and witty poster. She may be looking for ideas for good discussion boards . . . where is everybody using these days?
Can we suggest a few links?

greatworlddebate.net/index.phpI like this board still, even though the Americans probably outnumber the UKans on it. Please post your own favourites for Wonder Woman and anyone else who comes here alooking. Thanks.

Welcome WonderWoman - one of my faves.
Yup, you do know me. I'm the old bird from Bitbots, turned into something a little more domestic for the Stubby garden.

I've been really impressed with your posts on the bizarre Paedophile Scoutmaster thread! How have you kept your sanity?
Welcome!

Welcome to the fluffy side, Wonderwoman.
A word of warning: we do have some very serious debates on here, such as whether jelly should be included in trifles and whether Horlicks is the work of the devil.

A word of warning: we do have some very serious debates on here, such as whether jelly should be included in trifles and whether Horlicks is the work of the devil. Don't exaggerate, Ev. You know very well that those issues were settled amicably once and for all, never to be raised again. Jelly in trifle -- yes. Horlicks -- bedtime drink of the Gods, not forgetting the tablets. (Cloves are the work of the Devil.) Extra Free Bonus Xmas Item: Marmite is the bee's knees, the business, the gourmet's dream, and the most delicious substance ever invented.

Hi, Lynne! I'm becoming a fugitive from my own board.
The way things are going I may well close it down unless things change radically!
Love and hugs to you anyway!

Hello everyone! Riot, thanks for the invitation, and all for the warm welcome!
I’m actually not looking for any more boards to become involved on. I tend to ‘hang’ on one fairly brutal board ~ well, now two ~ and I’ve often wondered why, and also, often felt like throwing in the towel. I’ve bookmarked this space for when I need to relax and recharge my stuperpowers.
So, really, I popped over to check up on you, Riot… I was very sad to see you leave Bitbot (love that, btw) even while I understood your want to go. And, I considered walking too. I may still. But, I won’t do it in haste, because well, I’m Wonder Woman, I fight the good fights - LOL.
For me ~ and I’m not saying it’s for everyone ~ the question remains: should we (I) fight the fights I can win, or should we (I) fight the ones that need fighting. Anyway, don’t want to turn this into a debate. It’s just right for me to go on fighting the good fights. If I can stand PDP, Bitbots shouldn’t be too difficult!
Has anyone suggested asparagus in trifles? With a touch of mustard. Yum.

Has anyone suggested asparagus in trifles? With a touch of mustard. Yum. Only if it's white asparagus, obviously. Mustard would be silly. It would clash with the Tabasco.

I was sent some 'specialist' chocolate with cardamom in once, so I suppose that could be sprinkled on the top too for extra buzz!

WW, to me, on a Message Board, there is a time (for each individual it will be different) when the line has been so far crossed that you basically don't want to hang around with those people any more.
For me when a poster boasted about his bashing of gay men, that was not a place I wanted to be any more.
I don't mind a good fight. Love it. But on messageboards, as in real life, there is a time when you decide to simply walk out the room rather than continue to talk to someone.
I've seen the hardcore board you post on (the dp one) and that wouldn't be for me either, although I very much admire your tenacity on that one.

Maybe a little about me is in order.
I came to the death penalty subject and PDP (prodeathpenalty.com) about 13 years ago, after my son was murdered. When I arrived there, I was neither for or against the death penalty. The state was seeking death for Jim's murderer, and because of Jim's position (he opposed execution) we would fight against DP for his killer and eventually convince the jury to choose, instead, LWOP.
The DA told us if that was how we felt, we should just keep out of it........... I guess that's when I started feeling as though some fights just had to be fought, no matter the outcome.
After participating on PDP (the original board) for sometime, I chose a side. I'm now as opposed to DP as Jim was. There are, of course, other things Jim was adamant about that, before his death, I didn't give a lot of thought to. But, with his death, his words and his beliefs began resounding in my head. He was the teacher.
So................ I became a scrapper (no I don't go round beating people up beyond with words). I've participated on several 'break-away' boards over the years. I will not be (cannot perhaps) silenced by those I perceive to be blatantly (and as often happens, loudly) wrong.
Just wanted you to know why I stayed, Riot, despite a want to follow your lead.
