I've always prided myself on the fact that I never make New Year resolutions. However, this year I said I'd join a Yoga class (mainly on recommendation from Riot) in an effort to get fit, or, at least, a bit fitter than I am.
So this morning I trolled along to our local village centre, yoga mat tucked under my arm, new pair of joggers and my Nike trainers on, to look the part, only to find out that I'd got the wrong day. The class is on Thursdays, not Tuesdays.
Maybe I need brain training.
Has anyone else made a New Year resolution?

Good grief, no.
I turned up to dialysis in the morning 2-3 weeks ago, having agreed to go in the afternoon and then forgotten. I had to come home again.

I shall report back tomorrow after my yoga session. It can be very agreeable, Ev. Especially on Weetabix with fresh raspberries. Another wonderful kitchenless day in store for me tomorrow, waiting in for the insurance inspector, an electrician, and the drying-out company. (Not Chem-Dry, Pat -- the insurance says it has to be Polygon. Sounds like an avian undertaker.)

Well, the yoga session went well. I think I was the youngest one there! It's a fairly gentle type of yoga - I thought that best because of my dodgy back - and the ladies all made me feel welcome. Yes, I shall continue with this.

Yes, I shall continue with this. How was your downward dog? I haven't done a yoga practice for AGES. I need to get back into it. You feel so good. Everso, in theory (although I never quite get up 15 minutes early) if you do the Sun Salutation every morning for 15 minutes the health benefits are ginormous.

I'm not au fait with all the terms yet, Riot, but I just googled Downward Dog and, no, we didn't do that one. We did one where you bend over from the waist, trying to keep your back and head aligned. We also did another one where you sit on the floor, bend the right knee and place the right foot the other side of the left leg, then you grasp your right thigh with the left hand, bring up the right arm in front of you till it's level with your eyes, swing it round to the right and place your hand behind you, twisting yourself round and remembering to breathe all the time (which I didn't). But I don't know what it's called. We did lots of lying down and breathing and relaxing. It was very nice. The Sun Salutation looks quite involved. I'm hopeless at remembering things.

I'm not au fait with all the terms yet, Riot It's as easy as 123, Ev. All the techniques have numbers, established during the Raj by Maharishi Mahesh Shere Khan. Number 40 is a particularly popular one . . .

I'd love to be a cat - if it weren't for the business of having to lick your own bum.

Oh, they enjoy it. They don't do anything they don't enjoy.
