often it is the result of not the babys father being brought into the home. Humans are like animals after all. The animal world often the males kill the young with the females,so that they will mate and produce their own.Lions do this because the new males won't hunt and feed cubs of another rival male.Its a common thing with most of the cat family and in bears too. The animal instinct of human males come out and kill the offsping of their mate,to eliminate a rival. It should make mothers with vunerable babies more cautious to bringing new mates into the home,but it does not.

Riot, I really can't see your "weans" not giving as good as they get.
But Sesley is right; we can learn a lt from animals, and ignore our base instincts at our peril!
