I nominate this post as the most entertaining one I've seen on SC so far this year . . . Laugh?! I thought me pants would never dry.

Well, big daughter is already shacking up with boyfriend, and little daughter is moving out in the next couple of weeks. We were up at her new flat today getting it sorted.
Soon I will be childless. Hooray!

I've just spent the last 4 days rattling round this place by myself...not sure I like the peace and quiet as much as I thought I would. Still, they're all coming for lunch to day so normality will return to Hotel Bonbon...

Something for all you folk whose kids have just left home:
We're discarded, of no further use, though we gave our kids all our youth and all our lives - we really tried. Now there's only my wife and me; we used to have a family - now that's gone....
I wonder how long it will be till this song is sung by our own sons and daughters?

My daughter left home to study, and never came back.
My son we had to kick out eventually, after he came back from studying, he had become such a fucking nuisance. Wish I could say it was the making of him.
It's a Vale of Tears a lot of the time, and no mistake.

Our daughter left home aged 20 and our son was 19. I never experienced empty nest syndrome, although I did miss them at first, but once we were used to the phone not ringing all the time, it was nice to just be the two of us again. Having said that, our son and his partner are down to see us in a couple of weeks and our daughter is over here quite a lot with the children.

Afraid not. But we have sung it.
I might give you the Josquin next, if I can find it.

Hillard Ensemble, Josquin Exquisite, Jean. Thanks. They're as good as Gothic Voices.
