Does it actually matter if a person in crisis lives in poverty or not? If we look at the recent human tragedy in Japan? Just a thought> Well the day they said up a generic no-fault political policy and charity for those who just generally live in crisis, I'll throw a pound in the collecting tin. Of course it matters. What happened in Japan is human tragedy. Nobody can protect their families or property from death and natural disaster. But Japan is not a poor nation, so people will not starve to death, they will be able to rebuild within a reasonable timescale. They can never escape the human tragedy, but it is so much worse when it is overlaid with the poverty that perpetuates and worsens the tragedy.
