Diana Wynne Jones died a couple of weeks ago. She wrote a lot, mainly for children. Her books are wonderful - very witty, touching, atmospheric, and even erotic. I must have read Fire and Hemlock 4-5 times - the only book that I have finished and then started again, straight away. And I am looking forward to reading The Time of the Ghost and Hexwood again. I especially like the way she can have one reality, with some unexplained things for 3/4 of the book, and then switch to another reality, which explains everything that you didn't get earlier, and which is immensly satisfying as well. Really worth looking out for.
